Utah fires its state archaeologists The Salt Lake Tribune
In this tough economy I really hate to hear of anyone else losing their job!
Well, almost anyone! Ha!

Well, what do you do in a tight economy. Trim the fat or keep eating ?? Luckily in this case, they cut the fat. Now if only out liberal media and president could do the same.
ReplyDeletePresident cut fat? Not likely. He, and the rest of the Dems, depends on the recipients of their precious social programs. Cut them and lose votes, hence the Democrat balking and blaming the Republicans for the lack of a REAL budget. Oh, that's right, Bush did it.
ReplyDeleteBoth of our two most recent presidents did nothing but bow to the status quo. I never realized Foxnews was liberal. Wow, I better watch more often! For all the infotainment on every "news" program it's kind of difficult to ferret out any real "news" anyway. More to the point: is there any good news on recently "unknown" bottles being discovered? Embossing variants? New colors? Me and my digging partner recently discovered some rather rare "debossed" fire bricks from J.P. Glaser - in business in SF from 1870s into the early 1880s. Only a few of those years was he listed as an oven-builder. A damn site rarer than lots of similar vintage bottles I'd guess. In the same pile found another unlisted brick from SF. Yeah, so bricks aren't as glamorous as glass... ;')
ReplyDeleteMarked bricks are one of my "secret" collectibles. Hey, toss me one of those Glaser bricks at the Reno Show...well, maybe not the best place to be tossing bricks, but you definitely got a fellow brick collector's ears perked. Cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteI did a job for a guy off Walker Mine road here in Redding his walks and patio were done with named bricks and they were extensive I did`nt even want to walk on them should have taken pictures just amazing they were all western too
